Envoy: Poland has very active partnership with Azerbaijan
Poland has a very active partnership with Azerbaijan, Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafal Poborski said.
He made the remarks at the European City event in Lankaran, APA reports.
The diplomat noted that the traditionally held event is important both for Azerbaijan and European Union (EU) member states.
"Today we have gathered in Lankaran to present information about the EU member states and the projects we are carrying out. We have recently launched a ‘Twinning project' on road safety in Azerbaijan. We are implementing this project together with our Lithuanian colleagues. Our main partner in the project is Lithuania, and the second one is Poland. Here, we work closely with the Infrastructure and Transport Ministry, as well as with the police. I think this is a very important project. It is important for citizens of Azerbaijan, tourists, as well as for diplomats working in this country," Poborski said.
The diplomat also touched on relations between the two countries.
"In general, we have a very active partnership with Azerbaijan. Sahiba Gafarova, chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament, recently visited Poland. She had a fruitful meeting with Polish President Duda. She held a number of meetings at a high level in Warsaw. We actively cooperate with Azerbaijan not only at the governmental level but parliamentary diplomacy between our countries is also very active,” he stressed.
He also noted that the Polish president invited his Azerbaijani colleague to Poland in the coming months.
“I hope that we will soon begin work on preparations for this visit. Implementation of this visit will be another example of good relations between our countries," the Polish diplomat said.
