17 May 2025 12:32

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has officially ratified three bilateral cooperation agreements with Azerbaijan.

The agreements, which focus on tourism, water resources, and veterinary cooperation, were approved through presidential decisions, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish gazette.

They had been previously signed during high-level meetings held in Baku on November 15, 2024, and in Ankara on February 19 and May 8, 2024.

The decisions are as follows:

  • Decision No. 9821: Approval of the Tourism Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

  • Decision No. 9822: Approval of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Water between the two governments.

  • Decision No. 9823: Approval of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary Medicine.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye amounted to $6.13 billion in 2024, with exports totalling $3.82 billion and imports reaching $2.31 billion.

Numerous successful projects are underway between the nations, with nearly 4,000 Turkish companies operating in Azerbaijan. Turkish companies are playing a significant role alongside Azerbaijani businesses in the territories liberated from occupation.
