Erdoğan awards three Azerbaijani women on Mother's Day Photo
President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, honoured three Azerbaijani women during an event marking International Mother's Day.
The ceremony was organised by the Women's Union of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports.
The event celebrated the contributions of women in Turkish society, highlighting their vital role in the strength of family ties.
During his speech, President Erdoğan emphasised the importance of women's role in maintaining strong family bonds, reaffirming Türkiye's commitment to combating violence against women. He pledged that both the government and state will do everything in their power to eradicate such violence.
As part of the celebrations, the invited women received commemorative gifts from the Turkish president.
Among those honoured were three Azerbaijani women: Gülara Yenisey, Associate Professor at Kırklareli University; Latafat Rafig, Deputy Chairwoman of the Azerbaijan Cultural Society "Kharibulbul" and member of the Azerbaijan Artists' Union; and journalist Aynur Imran.
