Estonia to open embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026, minister confirms
Azerbaijan and Estonia have announced plans to further strengthen diplomatic ties, with Estonia set to open an embassy in Baku next year.
The development followed a telephone conversation on December 2 between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministers discussed key aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional and global issues.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing political dialogue and the increasing frequency of mutual visits.
Tsahkna confirmed that Estonia has made an official decision to open an embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026. Bayramov welcomed the move, stating that it would give fresh impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
