EU ambassador congratulates Azerbaijan on hosting 2028 EPC summit
European Union Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko has congratulated Azerbaijan on being selected as one of the host countries for the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in 2028.
“Congratulations to Azerbaijan, the host of the #EPC Summit in 2028!” Michalko wrote on social media platform X, celebrating the announcement that places Azerbaijan on the upcoming EPC calendar alongside Latvia, Caliber.Az reports.
The news was officially confirmed by European Council President Antonio Costa, who also shared details of the EPC’s future summits following the successful gathering in Tirana.
“The European Political Community will meet again in Copenhagen in October 2025,” Costa stated, adding that the platform has become “an essential forum for pan-European political dialogue at leaders’ level.”
Costa also thanked the upcoming hosts for carrying the initiative forward, listing the rotation through 2028.
According to him, the summit will be held by Armenia and Ireland in 2026; Switzerland and Greece in 2027; and Azerbaijan and Latvia in 2028.
Launched in 2022, the EPC is a platform designed to foster political coordination among European countries, both within and outside the EU.
