EU-Azerbaijani top diplomats coordinate on regional security, evacuations

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas to discuss the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The top diplomats reviewed the current security situation, expressed serious concern over the rising tensions, and underscored the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic channels, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“The significant role of Azerbaijan in evacuating foreign nationals from Iran, including citizens of EU member states, was highlighted. The parties also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest,” the ministry added.
