EU condemns Iran's drone strikes on Azerbaijan, calls actions unacceptable

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has condemned Iranian drone attacks on Azerbaijan, describing Iran’s actions as unacceptable, according to local media.

“Iran’s attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are completely unacceptable. These strikes represent further escalation by Iran and increase the likelihood of the conflict spreading beyond the Middle East. 

I have addressed this issue with Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and emphasised that the European Union stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Azerbaijan,” Kallas stated.
