EU envoy to Azerbaijan heads to Zangilan for demining conference

Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, is set to depart for the Zangilan district today.

According to Report, the diplomat shared this news on his social network X account.

"This morning I am flying to the beautiful Zangilan to take part in a conference on demining and to explore further opportunities for EU support to Azerbaijan," he wrote.

Previously, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, announced an international event addressing the mine problem to be held in the Zangilan district in May. Yesterday, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva confirmed that the international conference will take place on May 30.
