For context, EUMA began operations on February 20, 2023. The EU Council extended the mandate of the monitoring mission in Armenia for two years on January 30, 2025, now set to run until February 19, 2027.
The formal establishment of EUMA was authorised by a Council Decision adopted on January 23, 2023. The mission is deployed exclusively on the Armenian side of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
