EU supports measures for post-conflict rehabilitation in Azerbaijan
The EU is concentrating on post-conflict rehabilitation in order to open new possibilities for the civilian population.
The EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, reaffirmed this during his speech at a conference titled "Partnership for regional stability and development" held in Baku on November 24, as Trend reported.
Michalko recalled that the European Union is providing assistance to Azerbaijan in the restoration of the post-conflict territories.
He added, that, "Regional conflicts remain a fundamental problem, which resolution demands efforts following the international law. The process of peaceful negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan under the EU’s involvement is aimed at reaching a sustainable resolution".
Michalko, who represents the EU as a Slovak citizen, also noted that the EU is paying great attention to its partnership with the Azerbaijani civilian population, stating that within the framework of the Union’s "Eastern Partnership" initiative, projects in the spheres of politics, economics, environment and many others are being promoted.
