Euronews features special report on 12th Global Baku Forum VIDEO
Euronews TV channel has aired a special report highlighting the 12th Global Baku Forum, which took place from March 13-15, bringing together high-ranking officials, policymakers, and experts to address pressing global issues.
The report, featured on the channel’s Focus program, highlights key discussions held under the forum's theme, “Rethinking World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities”, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Euronews, the forum’s discussions primarily centered around crucial topics such as the enlargement of the European Union, regional security in the South Caucasus, and the quest for post-conflict stability. The event saw prominent leaders from around the world affirming the importance of international collaboration in addressing these challenges.
One of the key highlights of the report was an interview with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. During the interview, Aliyev underscored the need for a robust security mechanism for the South Caucasus, a region that has historically been a hotspot for confrontation and tensions.
The Azerbaijani president stressed the importance of maintaining the current calm period in the region and creating comprehensive security mechanisms to eliminate the risk of new military confrontations. He further emphasized the significance of fostering good neighborly relations in the region, akin to the harmonious ties that existed during the Soviet era.
Euronews also featured an interview with Albanian President Bajram Begaj, who addressed the pressing need to defend core democratic values such as freedom, human dignity, and justice. Begaj highlighted that the international community must stand firm in protecting these values, particularly in light of global challenges.
In addition to discussions surrounding regional security, the report also shed light on the situation in the Western Balkans, with former Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic offering insights into the region’s future. Djukanovic, who spoke about the interconnectedness of the Balkans with Europe, noted that the region’s EU aspirations were central to its political future. He described this challenge as not only a political one for the Western Balkans but also a defining issue for Europe’s future in the new geopolitical landscape.
The program concluded by emphasizing the forum’s pivotal role in shaping global discussions on security and economic development.
