Expert: Azerbaijan-Armenia agenda requires deeper content, active dialogue
The existing agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan needs substantive content and active communication between representatives of society, according to Boris Navasardian, honorary president of the Yerevan Press Club.
“In particular, this is the dual function we are trying to fulfil,” he said in an exclusive interview with Azertag while participating in a roundtable held within the framework of the “Peace Bridge” initiative involving civil society representatives from both countries.
He noted that not all of Armenian society is yet aware of the initiative, but efforts are being made to more widely inform the public about the process between meetings.
Sharing his expectations, Navasardian said they are similar to those of the official negotiation track, adding: “We hope that the numerous contradictions and disagreements existing between Baku and Yerevan will be overcome. It is clear that the final decision rests with our leaders and governments. However, I believe that options and models for these solutions can also be developed and proposed at our meetings.”
