Explosion at Kazakhstan’s largest oil field kills two workers

An explosion took place at the largest oil field in Kazakhstan at 09:55 local time on July 6.
The incident happened at the Tengizchevroil field located in the Atyrau region, 350 kilometres southeast of the city of Atyrau.
Two workers died and three were injured in the incident, which was reported by the local police department. A source at the company told Reuters that the explosion did not impede production.
“On July 6, at about 09:55, a pipe explosion occurred in the Zhylyoi region at the Tengiz field, as a result of which two workers born in 1985 died. Medical assistance is being provided to three workers who received various bodily injuries,” the police department for the Atyrau region said in a statement.
