Eyewitnesses detail atrocities committed by Armenians against civilians in Aghdaban "Burned elderly and children alive"
Armenians burned an old man and a woman alive in the village of Agdaban, Kalbajar region.
Giyas Alyev, a village resident and an eyewitness of the genocide in Agdaban, said during a visit to his native village on the eve of the anniversary of this tragedy, Report informs.
Alyev reported that on the night of April 7-8, 1992, a genocide similar to Khojaly was committed in Agdaban; a large group of Armenian barbarians launched an attack on the village.
According to him, residents tried to defend the village with only hunting rifles and a few machine guns provided by the government.
“At this time, several people managed to get out of the village along the paths. The Armenians burned the old man and woman alive at home and threw the deceased Musa onto a haystack. They also shot the father who was hugging the body of his child,” said Alyev.
Another resident of Aghdaban and eyewitness of the genocide, Tebriz Alyev, said that Armenians killed his father and 5-year-old sister during the massacre in the village of Agdaban in the Kalbajar region.
"Glory to Almighty God that today we can freely visit the land of our ancestors. Armenians destroyed and looted our village, took away our childhood and youth, destroyed the graves of our fathers. I was one of those who experienced the worst tragedy when the village was occupied. They (Armenians - ed.) killed my father and my five-year-old sister. I thank our President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and our army who gave us this victory," Alyev added.
On the night of April 7-8, 1992, the Armed Forces of Armenia, with the support of Armenian militants in Karabakh, attacked the village of Aghdaban in the Kelbajar region and burned more than 130 houses, 779 civilians of the village were subjected to inhuman torture. During this massacre, 67 people were brutally killed, 8 old people aged 90-100 years, two young children and 7 women were burned alive. Two were missing, twelve people were seriously injured. The Armenians destroyed historical, architectural and cultural monuments, desecrated and destroyed sanctuaries and cemeteries.
