Facts speak louder than allegations Azerbaijani ambassador silences Armenian diaspora member
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico, Mammad Talibov, during a debate on the Spanish-language broadcast of France 24 TV channel on October 2, called on the Armenian side to make sincere efforts to establish lasting peace between the two countries, and to put an end to hypocrisy and the slanderous campaign.
According to Report, the executive director of the Armenian National Council of South America, Aram Muratyan, who during the debate voiced allegations about an “ethnic cleansing in Garabagh”, and “blockade of the Lachin road”, was confronted by the Azerbaijani ambassador with historical facts and reasonable arguments.
The efforts of the presenter, who with her provocative questions tried to help the Armenian individual get out of the situation, also turned out to be futile.
Ambassador Talibov noted that Armenia for many years pursued a policy of occupation and ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijan, and the grave consequences of the Armenian mine terror continue to this day. The diplomat said despite all the difficulties, the Azerbaijani government is carrying out large-scale restoration and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation and intends to turn these territories into one of the most beautiful corners of the world.
Speaking about the reasons that led to the implementation of local anti-terrorist measures, the diplomat noted that all the assigned tasks were completed in just one day, and were followed by the steps to reintegrate the Armenian population of Garabagh in line with the Constitution and laws of Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Mammadov said Azerbaijan fully guarantees the rights and freedoms of all its citizens, regardless of their nationality, underlining the importance of Armenia's renunciation of territorial claims against Azerbaijan and putting an end to its lies and hypocrisy.
The ambassador particularly noted that the Armenian side should not miss this historic opportunity, and make sincere efforts to live in good neighbourliness in accordance with the peace agenda and calls of Azerbaijan, as well as ensure peace and tranquillity in the region. He also highlighted the significance of unblocking all economic and transport connections in the region, including the opening of the Zangezur Corridor, which could make a significant contribution to the normalisation process.
Mammadov added that the vile propaganda campaign and subversive activities of the radical Armenian diaspora targeting Azerbaijan are unacceptable and only undermine the peace process and normalisation between the two countries.
