Final days of Turkish "Winter-2025" army exercise cycle, attended by Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani military personnel are participating in training exercise cycle "Winter-2025 Exercise" organized by the Turkish Armed Forces. In the course of the exercises which are being carried out in the city of Kars, the participating forces are deploying the NEFER armored vehicle, MPT-76 machine guns, and several other types of weapons and equipment for the first time.

This was announced by the Representative of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, Zeki Aktürk during a briefing, as Caliber.Az reports citing local media.

He noted that during the international exercises, troops are honing their combat skills in harsh climatic conditions, improving their training and coordination levels.

International delegations from the following countries are taking part in the training cycle: Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Bulgaria, France, England, Libya, Mongolia, Niger, Tajikistan, United States and Jordan. A team consisting of special forces from the countries participating in the exercise carried out an infiltration operation against the enemy target determined in accordance with the scenario.

The exercise cycle has commenced on January 20 and will conclude on February 7. A total of 12,000 military personnel from Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense, General Staff, Land Forces Command, Naval Forces Command, Air Forces Command and Special Forces Command, civilian public institutions and organizations are participating.

During the exercise, training and activities are carried out on key issues such as mortar fire, search and rescue, cooperation and coordination in combined operations, testing the combat skills of the units, fire synchronization and maneuvering, clothing and support.

According to the Anadolu agency, the aim of the activity is to ensure cooperation and coordination in the execution of combined and joint operations, to test combat capabilities and capabilities, including shooting, in deep snow and severe cold, to recreate the battlefield in all its dimensions, to improve the synchronization of shooting and maneuvering, to develop training levels in winter conditions in field settlement, shelter, food and maintenance activities, and to ensure the operation of command and control systems in winter conditions.
