Envoy: Finland seeks energy cooperation with Azerbaijan PHOTO
Finland has expressed interest in strengthening ties with Azerbaijan in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.
Speaking at the “Central Baltic – Azerbaijan” business forum, Finnish Ambassador Kirsti Narinen highlighted the potential for collaboration between Finnish and Azerbaijani companies, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Finnish firms possess advanced technologies in energy efficiency and renewable energy, which open new avenues for cooperation with Azerbaijani partners,” Narinen said.
“These are sectors of particular interest to Finnish companies. Business forums like this are crucial for entrepreneurs to meet, discuss prospective projects, and explore new markets in the region.”
She noted, however, that the scale of the market is currently limited, underlining the importance of expanding regional cooperation.
The ambassador also pointed to the value of EU-funded projects in facilitating contacts with representatives from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland in Baku, creating new opportunities for cross-border business.
