FM: Azerbaijan attaches importance to developing ties with Iraq
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed on July 1, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to participate in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
During the meeting, the sides expressed gratification with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq and stressed the determination of our countries to develop cooperation in all spheres, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.
Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of ties with Iraq. Stressing that relations between the two countries are developing on the basis of historical, cultural, and religious ties, he noted that the two countries cooperate both in bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
While expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the Iraqi diplomat emphasised the positive ties between our countries and highlighted the support which is rendered by Azerbaijan to Iraq, including humanitarian assistance, which is rendered by Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of bilateral ties, including the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the economic, humanitarian, tourism, educational, and other spheres.
