FM Bayramov: Azerbaijan demands apology from Iran after drone strikes
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has called Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during which Bayramov strongly condemned the drone strikes launched by Iran on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and emphasised that Baku expects an apology from Iran.
Lodging a strong protest over the attacks, the minister stressed that such actions violate international law and heighten regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports per the foreign ministry.
Araghchi expressed concern over the drone strikes on Nakhchivan, stating that the Iranian side and its military have initiated an investigation and wished a speedy recovery to the affected civilians.
Bayramov also stressed that Azerbaijan expects the prompt publication of the investigation results and the implementation of necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
