FM Bayramov highlights Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives Promoted in post-conflict period
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Deputy Director General for Operations of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Ugochi Daniels, who is on a visit to the country to attend the 11th Global Baku Forum.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IOM, as well as issues related to the preparation for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The minister highlighted the peace initiatives promoted by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period. Noting that the country will host COP29 this year, FM Bayramov emphasized the importance of cooperation in a number of areas related to climate change.
Ugochi Daniels congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting COP29 and wished success in its chairing. She expressed confidence that Azerbaijan, which has made strides in the development of migration policy, ensured the return of IDPs to their lands, will succeed in organising this important event. According to her, the International Organization for Migration, in its turn, is ready to provide possible support in this regard.
