FM Bayramov outlines Azerbaijan-US strategic priorities to American business leaders PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Roundtable with senior corporate leaders and representatives of major U.S. companies on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Bayramov briefed participants on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities and the development of the country’s relations with the United States, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries following the 2025 Washington Summit.

The minister underscored the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas including trade, energy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, connectivity and other fields of mutual interest.

He also briefed the business representatives on regional developments and the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalisation process following the August 2025 Washington Joint Declaration and the initialled peace agreement.

Bayramov highlighted practical confidence-building measures, including the lifting of transit restrictions and the initiation of direct bilateral trade between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The minister also stressed the importance of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) in ensuring unimpeded connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while contributing to regional trade and economic integration.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic role as a regional connectivity hub through the Middle Corridor and the Digital Silk Way.

He also pointed to the operationalisation of joint working groups on trade, energy, artificial intelligence and connectivity following the inaugural U.S.-Azerbaijan Economic Dialogue, which resulted in more than $8 billion in commercial commitments under over 10 signed agreements.

Bayramov further highlighted major strategic energy milestones and partnerships involving U.S. companies, stressing the role of energy cooperation in the broader Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership.
