FM Bayramov: Türkiye coordinates with Azerbaijan on Armenia relations
Türkiye works in coordination with Azerbaijan on relations with Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
He made remarks at a year-end press conference, emphasising that Türkiye is a brotherly state and ally of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“These relations are unparalleled. They are built on historical ties, friendship, and brotherhood. Türkiye pays particular attention to Azerbaijan-Armenia relations,” the FM noted.
The minister highlighted that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan noted progress in Türkiye-Armenia relations hinges on developments in Azerbaijan-Armenia relations. “We are also aware of advances in Türkiye-Armenia air connectivity, and there are no issues on this front,” he added.
Bayramov also pointed out a favourable environment for the full repeal of the US Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act. He described 2025 as a positive and eventful year for Azerbaijan-US relations.
“During the Washington meeting [between Azerbaijani and US leaders on August 8], a document was signed to suspend Section 907. This is an important step. Overall, the application of this amendment to our country was unjust and unreasonable. Azerbaijan considers maintaining the Section 907 act in effect under current conditions illogical,” the minister stressed.
