FM: January 20 marks the Azerbaijani people’s will for freedom

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov shared a post on X commemorating January 20, describing the day as a symbol of the nation’s commitment to freedom, national dignity, and resilience.

In this context, Bayramov paid tribute to the martyrs, honouring their sacrifice for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports.

Azərbaycan xalqının müstəqillik, suverenlik və milli azadlıq uğrunda mübarizə tarixində silinməz iz qoymuş 20 Yanvar faciəsindən 36 il ötür.

20 Yanvar — Ümumxalq Hüzn Günü xalqımızın azadlıq iradəsinin, milli ləyaqətinin və dövlətçilik əzminin parlaq təzahürüdür.

“36 years have passed since the tragedy of 20 January, which left an indelible mark on the history of the struggle of the Azerbaijani people for independence, sovereignty and national freedom.

20 January — National Mourning Day is a bright manifestation of the will to freedom, national dignity and determination of our nation.

I commemorate with deep respect and reverence the dear memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan.

The memory of our martyrs will always live in our hearts!” Bayramov wrote.
