Former Turkish ambassador highlights foundations of Azerbaijan's historic success

Hulusi Kilic, former Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan, representative of Türkiye in the “Imza” Public Association, commended Azerbaijan's remarkable achievements since the restoration of its independence 33 years ago.

He noted that the country has firmly established itself as a reputable participant in international relations, characterized by a strong economy and military, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Kılıc attributed Azerbaijan's success to several key factors: a strong leadership, strategic policymaking, a powerful military, and, most importantly, a populace unified around their president.

He identified the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to Baku as a pivotal moment in the early years of Azerbaijan's independence, asserting that the groundwork for modern Azerbaijan was laid during his tenure. He emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev is a worthy successor who continues to implement Aliyev's visionary policies.

The former ambassador highlighted Heydar Aliyev's efforts to raise awareness of the realities in the region, particularly regarding the consequences of Armenian aggression, the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, and the plight of over one million refugees and internally displaced persons. Kılıc described Heydar Aliyev as the "architect" of Azerbaijan’s modern statehood, noting that one of his primary focuses was fostering the country's economic growth.

Kılıç also praised President Ilham Aliyev for executing these foundational principles, which have resulted in significant development and the establishment of a robust military that reclaimed occupied territories. He characterized the liberation of these lands as a monumental achievement for the entire Turkic world.

In conclusion, Kılıc honored the memory of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, celebrating the establishment of the first democratic state in the East 106 years ago as a historic milestone.
