France to allocate €180 million on fuel price relief
22 April 2026 16:01
France’s Budget Minister David Amiel has stated that the government will allocate around €180 million in May for measures to support households amid high fuel prices.
Following a government meeting, he said state support amounted to about €150 million in April, Caliber.Az reports, citing French media.
The funds will be directed toward supporting various categories of citizens most affected by rising energy costs.
High fuel prices are primarily driven by a combination of limited oil supply, high global demand, and geopolitical instability, particularly conflicts in the Middle East.
Other significant factors include rising crude oil costs, refinery operational issues, and heavy government taxation.
