French intel chief highlights Baku Initiative Group's role in fighting colonialism in Africa
Bertrand Chamoulaud, head of the National Directorate of Territorial Intelligence of the French Ministry of Interior, mentioned the Baku Initiative Group when speaking about France's presence in Africa.
In an interview with Le Monde newspaper, he recognized that the movement against colonialism is growing in the overseas territories, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
According to him, they are strengthened by the support of foreign actors such as the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), which also provides them with a platform.
Recognizing the weak influence of the National Directorate of Territorial Intelligence on the movements in the overseas territories, Chamoulaud said that in the context of information warfare, personalities such as Kemi Seba “strike a blow to French diplomacy.”
To recall, Kemi Seba, during his speech at the international conference “France's neocolonial policy in Africa” held in Baku in October this year, said that Azerbaijan is among those who are engaged in a serious struggle against colonization. After his return from Azerbaijan, French security services detained him, but were soon forced to release him.
The Baku Initiative Group, an international non-governmental organization, is dedicated to fostering international partnerships in decolonisation and human rights. The group firmly and continuously supports the struggles for freedom and independence of those living under colonial and neocolonial rule, committing to solidarity and practical assistance.
Simultaneously, the organization contributes to women empowerment, human rights, environmental, and cultural issues.
