Fundamental rights, freedoms fully guaranteed in Azerbaijan MFA spokesperson says

Aykhan Hajizada, spokesperson for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, asserted that the United States has no right to exploit and distort human rights issues as a means to interference in the internal affairs, investigation process and the independence of judiciary.

"Fundamental rights and freedoms are fully guaranteed in Azerbaijan. At the same time, as in the United States, citizens serving sentences for criminal offences are subject without any discrimination to the requirements of the relevant laws on penal regimes,” Hajizada posted on his X account, Caliber.Az reports.

“The groundless public demands to release certain individuals convicted under national legislation by a competent court on criminal charges on the basis of political preferences of some foreign governments and politicians cast doubt on true commitment to the rule of law," the post by Hajizada noted.
