Gabon seeks deeper defence ties with Azerbaijan during official visit

On January 21, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, met with a delegation led by Gabon’s Minister of National Defence, Brigitte Onkanova, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

The ministry told Caliber.Az that Mustafayev provided the guests with a detailed briefing on the achievements of Azerbaijan’s defence industry in recent years, the application of modern technologies, existing production capabilities, as well as ongoing efforts to study and implement advanced international best practices.

Brigitte Onkanova expressed Gabon’s interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fields of defence and defence industry. She stressed that establishing new ties and implementing joint projects would contribute to strengthening the defence capabilities of both countries.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on prospects for cooperation in the military-technical sphere, the development of interaction in this area, and the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
