Georgian, Armenian PMs discuss regional stability, economic cooperation in Yerevan

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has met with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to discuss strategic partnership, regional stability, and economic cooperation, according to the Georgian government administration.

During their face-to-face meeting, the leaders underscored the importance of their countries’ strategic ties and reviewed key topics on the agenda of the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

They highlighted the significance of high-level dialogue and close cooperation in various formats to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Discussions also focused on the regional situation and the progress of the peace process. Prime Minister Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to promoting dialogue and contributing to regional stability and peace, which he emphasized as crucial for the development of both nations.

The upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission is expected to facilitate the expansion of trade and economic ties, maximizing the untapped potential in bilateral economic relations.

As part of the discussions, Kobakhidze extended an invitation to Pashinyan for an official visit to Georgia, further solidifying the cooperative spirit between the two neighbouring countries.

Earlier today, January 30, Kobakhidze arrived in Yerevan for a working visit. He was welcomed at the airport by Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
