Georgian FM stresses stability, trade ties at Munich security conference
Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili used a panel at the Munich Security Conference to highlight her country’s role as a stable partner amid mounting regional and global uncertainty.
Bochorishvili said Georgia’s stability was particularly significant at a time of global transformation, noting that the country maintains strategic relations with its neighbours. She emphasised that despite regional challenges, Georgia remains a stable state and has concluded 16 free trade agreements, including arrangements with the European Union, China, several Central Asian countries and the United Arab Emirates, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
The minister added that Georgia is open to new economic and infrastructure initiatives. She underlined the importance of relations with Romania and Bulgaria and said Tbilisi is considering the development of a Black Sea submarine cable project aimed at strengthening connectivity between the region and Europe.
On the sidelines of the conference, Bochorishvili is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from various countries as well as representatives of international organisations.
