Georgian president wraps up official visit to Azerbaijan
The official visit of Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Azerbaijan has concluded.
A farewell ceremony was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where a guard of honor was assembled in recognition of the president, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
President Kavelashvili was seen off by Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, and other senior government officials, marking the end of the high-level diplomatic visit.
During an official visit to Azerbaijan, President Kavelashvili reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Speaking at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kavelashvili emphasised the depth of strategic ties between the two neighbouring nations.
“Georgia and Azerbaijan firmly support each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for that, I would like to once again express my gratitude to Mr. President,” President Kavelashvili stated.
Highlighting the alignment of interests and long-standing cooperation between the two countries, the Georgian leader said that Tbilisi has always remained a strong and consistent supporter of Azerbaijan’s territorial rights.
