German ambassador, Armenian MP talk EU reforms, TRIPP corridor
Arman Yegoyan, Chair of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on European Integration, met on November 25 with Germany’s Ambassador to Armenia, Claudia Busch.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the meeting was reported by the Armenian Parliament.
Yegoyan welcomed the ambassador and highlighted the steadily developing partnership between Armenia and Germany across multiple sectors, noting especially the growing cooperation at the parliamentary level.
The two sides reviewed the current state of Armenia–EU relations, including progress on reforms under the Armenia–EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). They also discussed the ongoing dialogue regarding EU visa liberalisation for Armenian citizens, emphasising Germany’s active participation in the process.
Regional issues were another central topic, particularly developments in the South Caucasus and the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalisation process. The parties additionally addressed matters related to the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) communication initiative.
The TRIPP project proposes an infrastructure corridor running through Armenia’s Syunik province to connect mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan exclave. First introduced after the Second Karabakh War, the corridor is intended to facilitate direct, uninterrupted transit between the two Azerbaijani territories.
In August 2025, the United States hosted a trilateral meeting with Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington, where the sides reached a preliminary understanding on the principles for opening the TRIPP route. The arrangement aims to stimulate trade, simplify transport links, and strengthen regional connectivity.
