German coalition agrees on heavy weapons supplies for Ukraine

The ruling coalition in Germany has agreed on supply of heavy weapons for Ukraine. Previously, the largest political force, the Social Democratic Party, was cautious about the possibility of such supplies, RBK-Ukraine reports citing a Bundestag MP from the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and a member of the parliamentary group on defense policy, Marcus Faber.

"Dear friends, Germany will now quickly supply heavy equipment to Ukraine. I am glad that we from the FDP and our coalition partners were able to agree on this," he said.

To recall, it was previously reported that the German defense concern is ready to supply Ukraine with up to 50 tanks and 60 BMPs.

According to German FM Annalena Baerbock, Europe has no more time for excuses and Kyiv needs to be supplied with heavy weapons.
