Germany applauds Azerbaijan–Armenia rail transit agreement
Germany has welcomed the recent progress in economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the German Foreign Ministry’s Department for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia said in a statement.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing local media, the ministry noted that the two countries have reached an agreement on the rail transit of liquefied natural gas and bitumen to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
Berlin described the arrangement as another meaningful step toward the normalization of economic relations between the two neighboring states.
The German Foreign Ministry emphasized that such practical cooperation contributes to confidence-building and supports broader efforts aimed at fostering stability and sustainable economic ties in the South Caucasus.
