Greece moves embassy from Tehran to Baku over security concerns

Greece has relocated its embassy in Iran to Azerbaijan amid growing security concerns, a spokesperson for the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

“The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to move the Greek embassy from Tehran to Baku,” the spokesperson said, ERT reports.

The move comes in response to what Greek officials described as the increasingly dangerous situation in Tehran. The Greek foreign ministry emphasized, however, that it has not received any evacuation requests from Greek citizens in Iran.
