Greece says new Turkish AESA radar to change air balance PHOTO
The Greek media outlets have been closely following a demonstration of the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) capability to upgrade Turkish F-16s.
Claiming that the balance of air power in the Aegean Sea is in Greece's favour due to Türkiye’s exclusion from the F-35 programme and the Rafale combat aircraft purchased from France, Greek media wrote that the AESA radar developed by ASELSAN could change the balance in question, Yeniakit reports.
The Turkish and Greek air forces gap is said to be closed soon.
Highlighting the capabilities of the Bayraktar AKINCI drone, developed by the Turkish defence company Baykar, the Greek media reports said Türkiye is planning new air tactics in the Aegean Sea.
As reported, the AESA radar will be the first to be integrated into the AKINCI and subsequently into the national combat aircraft under development.
"AKINCI drones equipped with AESA radar will significantly increase the Turkish Air Force's capabilities," the reports add.
