Hajiyev: Azerbaijan proven venue for major international forums

Azerbaijan has demonstrated its ability to host major international events, including the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration said on May 19.

Speaking during WUF13 in Baku, Hajiyev noted that not every country has the necessary conditions and infrastructure to organise events of such scale, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

“Azerbaijan successfully hosted COP29 and is just as successfully hosting WUF13,” Hajiyev said. “Not every country has the conditions necessary to host such events as we do.”

He noted that security concerns and ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world limit the ability of some countries to organise large international gatherings.
