Hamburg hosts 3rd forum of Azerbaijani engineers living in Europe
The 3rd Forum of Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe has opened in the German city of Hamburg, bringing together professionals to discuss Smart City Technologies and related development processes.
The forum is being held under the theme “Smart City Technologies and Processes” and is organized by the Alliance of Azerbaijanis of Germany in cooperation with the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan. This year’s event also forms part of Azerbaijan’s declared Year of Urban Planning and Architecture, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The forum was officially opened by Günay Mirzayeva, board member of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis of Germany and head of the Azerbaijan House in Stuttgart. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany were performed, followed by a minute of silence in memory of those who died for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Addressing participants, Altay Rustamli, chairman of the board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis of Germany, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of diaspora engagement in engineering and innovation.
Elkhan Sadik-zada, board member of the alliance and professor at Ruhr University Bochum, presented the key outcomes of the 2nd Forum of Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe, outlining progress made since the previous gathering.
