Head of Azerbaijani Armed Forces General Staff begins official visit to Serbia PHOTO/VIDEO
Colonel-General Kerim Veliyev, First Deputy Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army has commenced an official visit to Serbia.
The invitation was extended by Colonel-General Milan Mojsilovic, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az that the visit began with a ceremony at Tashmaidan Park in Belgrade, where a wreath was laid at the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev, followed by homage to Serbian poet and writer Milorad Pavic.
A formal welcoming ceremony at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff included the ceremonial passing in front of the guard of honour and the playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Serbia.
During his visit, Colonel-General Veliyev held discussions with his Serbian counterpart on enhancing military cooperation. He also met with Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic to explore opportunities for bilateral collaboration in military, military-technical, and military-educational domains.
Ambassador Kamil Hasiyev of Azerbaijan to Serbia participated in these meetings, underscoring the diplomatic dimension of the visit.
The visit of Colonel-General Kerim Veliyev to Serbia is ongoing, focusing on further strengthening ties between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Serbia.
