Heads of ICESCO, OTS explore strengthening cooperation in Baku

Salim M. AlMalik, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), have met in Baku to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two organizations.

The meeting took place at the ICESCO pavilion at the Baku Olympic Stadium, the venue for the ongoing COP29 conference, Caliber.Az reports via loval media.

During the discussions, the two leaders explored opportunities to further strengthen the partnership between ICESCO and OTS, focusing on mutual interests and future collaborations.

AlMalik emphasized ICESCO's commitment to developing initiatives, programs, and projects in partnership with OTS, and noted that the organizations plan to formalize their cooperation with an agreement to be signed in January during his visit to the OTS headquarters in Istanbul.

In response, Omuraliev praised ICESCO's support for the OTS member states in areas such as environmental protection and climate change mitigation. He reaffirmed the OTS' commitment to deepening its collaboration with ICESCO moving forward.
