High-level meetings in Italy focus on Azerbaijani-Italian trade, energy cooperation PHOTO

The delegation headed by Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, who is on a visit to Italy, has held a meeting with Italian Parliament Senator Giulio Terzi.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized that successful partnerships have developed between Azerbaijan and Italy in various sectors of the economy, including trade, energy, transport and other areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Economy.

The sides touched upon priorities of economic cooperation and noted the importance of increasing new initiatives.

The Minister of Economy also met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Trade, Andrea di Giuseppe.

During the meeting, the high potential of trade partnership with Italy was emphasized, discussions were held on the implementation of these opportunities, in particular the development of ties between business entities and increasing mutual investments.

It was noted that the favourable investment environment for investors created in Azerbaijan, including the benefits offered in the Alat Free Economic Zone, industrial zones, and territories liberated from occupation, opens up new and effective business opportunities for Italian companies.

Moreover, Jabbarov, as part of his visit to Italy, also held a meeting with the President of the Lazio region, Francesco Rocca.

The parties, within the framework of the Azerbaijani-Italian partnership, discussed economic issues of mutual interest with the Lazio region and prospects for promoting joint activities in the private sector.

The meeting continued with the participation of representatives of Italian business structures. An exchange of views took place between business circles on establishing new partnerships in the fields of industry, energy, including “green” energy, transport and logistics, agriculture and others.

Moreover, the meeting saw presentations on business and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and the Lazio region.
