Housing collapse kills fifteen people in Syria’s Aleppo

At least 15 people, including a child, have been killed when a five-story building collapsed in the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo.

As Al Arabiyya reported, the five-storey building in the Sheikh Maksoud district of Syria's second-largest city was said to have collapsed on January 22 due to water leakages that weakened its foundation.

Dozens of rescuers are searching for survivors and the bodies of the dead under the rubble with the help of a bulldozer.

The publication recalled, that many buildings have collapsed in recent years in Aleppo, which bore the brunt of intensive Russian and Syrian aerial bombing of areas under rebel control until they were driven out six years ago.
