Hungarian water quality control technology to be implemented in Azerbaijan
Cutting-edge Hungarian technologies designed to monitor and control drinking water quality and reduce losses may soon be applied in Azerbaijan and Türkiye, according to Yalcin Orhon, General Manager of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).
Speaking to Report's Ankara Bureau, Orhon highlighted the potential for joint projects between Azerbaijani and Hungarian companies.
"Today, there are global issues with the quality of drinking water, with 45 per cent of drinking water being lost from the source to the consumer. Hungary has developed a solution to this problem. In Budapest, the entire water supply network's quality and quantity are monitored daily by a single person using advanced technologies. This problem is detected on a monitor and quickly resolved," Orhon explained.
He noted that Türkiye and Azerbaijan also face significant water loss issues and could benefit from implementing similar technologies. "Joint projects between Hungarian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani companies are possible in this regard," he added.
Orhon also revealed that in 2025, Hungary's Ministry of Trade and HEPA will sign a new cooperation agreement with companies from member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), further strengthening regional collaboration in water quality management.
