Top Azerbaijani cleric to attend funeral of Georgian Patriarch Ilia II

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, will take part in the funeral ceremony of Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia.

Pashazade told journalists this after the festive prayer at the Tazapir Mosque, recalling that he had visited the Georgian embassy the day before to offer condolences on the passing of Ilia II, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“Ilia II was my friend,” the Caucasus Muslims Board head added.
