Nordic-Baltic Eight discusses peace process between Baku and Yerevan PHOTO

Representatives of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries met with Azerbaijani officials in Baku to discuss the peace process and normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Swedish Embassy in Baku announced.

NB8 delegates held meetings with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration; Elchin Amirbayov, the President’s Special Envoy; Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Foreign Minister; Mammad Talibov, Head of the Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; as well as representatives of civil society and think tanks.

“Discussions covered a broad range of issues, including the peace and normalisation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional security and bilateral relations,” the statement said. The visit marks the NB8 delegation’s second trip to Baku, following an earlier visit in spring 2025.
