IAEA resolution would derail negotiations on nuclear deal, Iranian MFA says
The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) resolution on Iran will derail the negotiation process on the nuclear deal.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian made the due statement Friday during telephone talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reported.
"Our country's foreign minister called the actions of the United States and three European countries (Germany, Britain, France) to prepare a draft resolution against Iran for the IAEA Board of Governors a breakdown of the negotiation process," the press service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.
Amir Abdollahian stressed that "the parties opposing the diplomatic route will feel the consequences of the resolution against Iran at the upcoming meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors."
On June 1, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, said that a draft resolution on Iran could be considered at the next IAEA meeting to be held in Vienna on June 6-10. In particular, it may concern the lack of sufficient access of the agency to the three nuclear facilities in Iran.
