IDF spox: Israel's ground ops yield intelligence against Hezbollah threats

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have commenced a ground operation in Lebanon aimed at neutralising Hezbollah, which has been targeting northern Israel with attacks for nearly a year, said the IDF spokesperson Admiral Daniel Hagari.

Since the onset of the conflict in October 2023, IDF forces have conducted numerous operations in southern Lebanon, focusing on dismantling Hezbollah's infrastructure in villages and areas near the Israeli border, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.

Hagari noted that these operations specifically thwarted attempts by Hezbollah's special forces, known as Radwan, to launch attacks on Israeli border regions.

IDF troops have been actively engaged in Lebanese villages and rugged terrain, uncovering Hezbollah's underground facilities along the border, as well as weapon caches, observation posts, and other military assets.

The operations have yielded valuable intelligence, leading to the destruction of Hezbollah armaments, including those manufactured in Iran, and the dismantling of underground structures. Some weapon samples and equipment have been transported back into Israel for further analysis.
