Incoming French ambassador pledges stronger ties with Azerbaijan

France’s newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Sophie Lagoutte, has pledged to actively contribute to the further development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

In a post published on the social media platform X, Ambassador Lagoutte shared her reflections following a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, marking the official start of her diplomatic mission in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The ambassador noted that as of today, she is beginning her mission to strengthen ties between France and Azerbaijan.

“Following my first meeting with Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, I am ready to work together with the entire team of the French Embassy, the French Institute in Azerbaijan, and all those who support the ties between our countries in order to achieve these goals!” she emphasized.
