Increased efforts needed for demining in Azerbaijan, says UNDP rep

It is crucial to intensify efforts to demine the liberated lands of Azerbaijan and raise awareness about this issue, stated Alessandra Roccasalvo, acting UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan.

According to Trend, Roccasalvo made these remarks at the III International Conference on Mine Action, themed "Reducing the Impact of Mines on the Environment - Mobilizing Resources for a Safe and Green Future."

"Combating the threat of mines is very important today not only for Azerbaijan but also for other countries," she emphasized.
