Intensive preparations for COP29 underway, says Azerbaijani presidential aide

Preparations for COP29 are progressing intensively, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration stated.

According to APA, Hajiyev highlighted the establishment of an organizing committee under the direction of Samir Nuriyev, Head of the Presidential Administration, as per the President's directives. He emphasized the inclusive approach of involving civil society and media sectors alongside government entities. Coordination efforts span various fronts, including ongoing engagement with international partners.

"The Azerbaijani COP29 team is operating at a highly professional level," Hajiyev stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration with international advisory groups and academics. He noted the establishment of an international advisory group comprising experts deeply engaged in global climate change initiatives, whose insights and recommendations are pivotal to the preparations.
